Finance Operations, Snr. Analyst, Reporting & Analytics - Parent Company takes part in the preparation of the US GAAP and IFRS financial reports for National Grid USA ("NGUSA") and National Grid North America Inc. ("NGNA").
Provides lead support in preparing financial statements and financial statement analytics for the Parent Company (NGUSA and NGNA). Supports the monthly financial close process, including the NGUSA and NGNA consolidations process. Partners with various stakeholders in US Finance Operations, Treasury (US and Group), Jurisdiction Business Partners, and Group (UK) Reporting to collect and review financial information and ensure accurate and timely reporting. Supports Manager on communications with external auditors on financial statement presentation and accounting issues.
Reports to the Manager, Parent Company and is responsible for preparing financial reports and analyses to support NGUSA and NGNA financial accounting and reporting requirements.
* Utilizes U.S. GAAP, IFRS, and SEC regulations on accounting pronouncements and implements accurate and effective disclosures.
* Partners closely with Group Financial Reporting in UK and assists with preparing the Group Reporting Pack and other IFRS schedules and reports to support the biannual NG plc reporting process.
* Responsible for providing reports and filings to meet monthly close processes. Verifies, reconciles and updates accounts by reviewing discrepancies to produce accurate and credible data.
* Partners closely with jurisdiction business partners to understand business financial performance, develop expectations and explain variance drivers.
* Analyses and explains income statement and balance sheet variances and trends against expected and historical data.
* Monitors and reports income statement, balance sheet and cash flow variances against budget and historical data to identify anomalies or discrepancies and ensure information is accurate and complete.
* Provides Treasury related information for quarterly and annually financial statements (Regulatory/US GAAP/IFRS)
* Supports month-end accounting close process to ensure timely, accurate and complete recording and reporting of financial transactions.
* Compiles and reviews financial information to prepare financial statements and ad-hoc reports.
* Maintains financial records for compliance with policies and procedures.
* Responsible for meeting financial filings and reporting deadlines.
* Responsible for supporting financial and non-financial controls to meet business requirements.
* Supports Manager in communications with external auditors on financial statement presentation and accounting issues and provides support for audit requests.
* Bachelor's Degree with 3 years in Financial Reporting and/or Accounting with increasing responsibility
* Demonstrated ability to meet assigned deadlines

* Knowledge of general ledger platforms and accounting system experience
* Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
