Job Purpose
Director, US Assistant Controller:
* Owns the accounting, processes and governance associated with National Grid North America and National Grid USA's group-wide accounting activities, inclusive of consolidated IFRS and US GAAP reporting, Technical accounting, Parent Company accounting, Plant reporting & analysis and National Grid USA Service Company.
* Represents the US Controllership on strategic, cross-functional projects requiring accounting input and support.
Key Accountabilities
National Grid North America and National Grid USA Financial Reporting
* Delivery of semi-annual and annual IFRS reporting packs to National Grid Plc's Group Financial Control team
* Delivery of interim and annual US GAAP financial statements to meet lender requirements, inclusive of managing associated audits and shelf registration requirements
* Oversight of Parent Company accounting activities, inclusive of monthly, quarterly, half-year and annual closing processes
* Support the Vice President, US Controller in management of annual audits and interim reviews
Technical and Complex Accounting
* Ownership of Technical Accounting for National Grid's US businesses, including US GAAP accounting policies and procedures
* Provide regular accounting updates and training to the US Controllership and broader US Finance teams
* Partner with Group Financial Control in the UK on IFRS technical-related matters, including pending IFRS Standard on Regulatory Assets and Regulatory Liabilities
* Ownership of accounting and reporting for complex areas across National Grid's U.S. businesses, including environmental remediation, pension and other postretirement benefit plans, and construction projects
Plant Reporting and Analysis
* Oversight of monthly, quarterly, half-year and annual IFRS and US GAAP reporting requirements in the area of Property, plant and equipment and Intangible assets
* Stakeholder management with Finance Business Partners, FP&A and Regulatory on plant matters
National Grid Service Company
* Ownership of cost allocation rates and the associated annual update process
* Ownership of annual Administrative & General Study and capitalization rate
* Stakeholder management with Finance Business Partners, FP&A and Regulatory on Service Company accounting matters
* Delivery of Annual FERC Form 60
Transformation and Delivery
* Partners with and supports the US Transformation team on record-to-report related activities within the US Controllership
Qualifications

Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree required and MBA preferred in Accounting, Finance or Business
* CPA or equivalent international accounting license required
* 10 years of progressive accounting and leadership experience
