Job Description
Provides leadership and oversight to all departmental employees. Ensures the delivery of optimal patient care through the coordination of clinical activities, staff supervision, personnel leadership, and department organization. Demonstrates a service excellence approach and communicates this expectation to staff. Demonstrates fiscal responsibility by achieving financial targets of designated department(s). Leads and coaches the development and growth of a safety culture in the organization. The Director must be able to prioritize work and duties well and must work well under stressful situations. Must demonstrate good communication and customer service skills with a variety of patients, physicians, and other health care providers both internal and external to the organization. Must make accurate decisions and judgments quickly. Needs to exhibit team-oriented communication and partner well with co-workers.
Provides input for formulating policies and procedures for the Department. Assumes responsibility for own personal continuing education and developmental needs by attending meetings, workshops, and conventions to enrich personal knowledge, growth and skill. Serves on and attends hospital committees as appointed. Performs additional duties as assigned.
Education:
Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing with completion of Master degree.
Current professional nurse license issue and/or recognized by the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas required.
BLS and ACLS from AHA required.
Clinical specialty certification highly desired.
