What are the responsibilities and job description for the Claims Assistant position at National Student Services Inc.?
This position is essential to the entire claims department. The assistant is often the first contact the customer has while trying to navigate the claims process. Your job duties will include but are not limited to:
· Respond to policyholder inquiries by phone and/or email.
· Assist customers through the claims process with all needed documentation and/or questions.
· Deliver all incoming claim paperwork to the appropriate adjuster in the appropriate order.
· Verify the validity of police reports, receipts, etc.
· File all completed claims documents in appropriate order in correct file cabinet.
· Computer skills, phone skills, professional communication, and multi-tasking required.
· Mail out all claim checks and letters as requested by the adjusters.
· Maintain documentation of all communication with insured.
· Verify the accuracy of weekly claims report.
· Lift boxes up to 25lbs.
· Able to transport records to storage, must have a valid driver’s license.
· Perform any additional job functions requested by supervisors.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $10.00 - $12.00 per hour
