Summer Day Camp Medical Staff
Season :
Summer 2024 Seasonal Full-Time and Part-Time
Camp Dates :
July 1, 2024 August 23, 2024
Monday Friday 9 : 00 am 4 : 00 pm
Position Purpose :
The summer day camp medical staff is responsible for overseeing the health and safety of campers and staff.
Qualifications :
- Ideal candidate will be a New Jersey licensed physician’s assistant, nurse practitioner, registered nurse, licensed practical nurse, certified first aid paramedic or emergency certified medical technician, or can obtain a temporary license in New Jersey
- First Aid / CPR Certification required
- Experience in first aid and emergency management
- Desire to work with children and young adults
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
- Understanding of the development needs of youth and a strong desire to work with children in a mentoring role
- Ability to relate to youth and adults in a positive manner
- Demonstrated knowledge and skill in program areas
Responsibilities :
- Provide health care to meet individual needs of camp staff and campers.
- Set up camp health center
- Responsible for collecting, monitoring, and administering medications as prescribed
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records according to NJ state and American Camp Association Standards
- Ability to communicate with parents, staff, and administration about camper health concerns
