Summary:
The Washington Nationals are seeking 6 motivated and detail-oriented Interns to join our team. This internship provides an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in Sports front office roles within our Communications, Community Relations, Finance, Human Resources, Marketing and Operations departments. Under the guidance of professionals, the intern, will work closely with the department leaders and our HR team, participating in various projects and tasks to support the overall organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in a 12 week internship program/cohort.
- Provide general administrative support to department leaders.
- Assist with data entry.
- Contribute with other interns on a capstone project.
- Assist with HR record-keeping and data entry.
Requirements:
- Must currently be enrolled in an accredited university pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Government/Public Affairs or a related field..
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Eagerness to learn and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
Physical/Environmental Requirements
- Gameday Seasonal: Job requires the employee to function in a high activity and heavily crowded outdoor professional sports venue. May work at heights. Employee will be exposed to inclement weather of varying degrees. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time, walk long distances, and climb up/down stairs. The employee is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or sit and must lift and/or move up to 45 pounds.
Compensation:
The projected wage rate for this position is $17.50 per hour. Actual pay is based on several factors, including but not limited to the applicant’s: qualifications, skills, expertise, education/training, certifications, and other organization requirements. Starting salaries for new employees are frequently not at the top of the applicable salary range.
