Job Posting for Director IGM Clinical Laboratory- RI at Nationwide Children's Hospital

Overview:
We are seeking a Clinical Laboratory Director - The Steve and Cindy Rasmussen Institute for Genomic Medicine (IGM) at Nationwide Children’s Hospital combines diagnostics, research genomics and clinical genetics professionals into an aligned center focused on integrating genomics into patient care. The IGM Clinical Laboratory performs integrated clinical genomic, molecular, microarray, FISH and cytogenetic analyses to diagnose a broad range of inherited diseases and cancer.

The IGM clinical laboratory also serves as the testing reference laboratory for the Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, Wilms tumor, and Neuroblastoma disease disciplines within Children's Oncology Group (COG), performing molecular and cytogenetic analyses for clinical trial patients. Furthermore, the laboratory plays an integral role in the Molecular Characterization Initiative, part of the National Cancer Institute’s Childhood Cancer Data Initiative, to provide advanced genomic testing to a pediatric and adolescent population with cancer.

The IGM clinical laboratory supports an ACGME-accredited fellowship in Laboratory Genetics and Genomics. The mission of this fellowship is to develop post-doctoral clinicians and scholars in serving pediatric and adult populations through the provision of expert clinical laboratory care. This mission directly aligns with the hospital and institutional strategic plan to integrate and grow genomic medicine across the enterprise.

We emphasize collaborative interactions between clinicians, physician-scientists and basic science investigators to quickly transition cutting-edge research results into advanced diagnostics using state-of-the-art technology platforms. With world-renowned experts at the helm, we are moving genome-based testing into the mainstream of pediatric diagnosis and treatment by offering comprehensive next-generation sequencing for constitutional disorders and cancer diagnoses, making results accessible and meaningful for physicians and families.
