Busy Legal services Firm is looking for a process server to serve papers in Albany and some surrounding areas to a variety of Defendents.
Must have your own reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and insurance.
Tech savvy – iPhone/iPad or Android smart device and ability to work within a mobile app
Ability to scan and print documents.
Flexible hours that can often be coordinated with a retiree, student or current part time worker's schedule.
Must be able to follow detailed instructions, that will be provided, on the procedures of serving legal process with the State of New York.
Experience in process serving or related work is helpful, but not required`
Duties:
-- Ensure that all documents are delivered accurately and in a timely manner
- Maintain detailed records of all served documents
- Follow all legal requirements and guidelines for process serving
- Work closely with paralegals
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience as a process server is preferred, but not required
- Knowledge of legal procedures and regulations related to process serving
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficient in using technology such as smartphones and GPS devices
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Skills:
- File management: Ability to organize and maintain accurate records of served documents
- Courier: Ability to deliver legal documents efficiently and effectively
