Natural State Laboratories and Natural State Genomics are independent laboratories serving the clinical diagnostic, toxicology, genetic, and molecular testing needs of health care facilities in Arkansas and around the country. Laboratory and healthcare experience is strongly desired but not required. The ideal candidate will exhibit the ability to support the team with other duties assigned.
The Clinical System Specialist is responsible for the oversight and day-to-day operation of the clinical (Lab) information system implemented at Natural State Laboratories according to all applicable laws, accrediting agencies, and policies and procedures in place in the laboratory.
An effective Clinical System Specialists will have excellent:
· Working knowledge of laboratory operations inclusive of all pre-analytical; analytical, and post-analytical testing requirements are essential.
· The LIS Specialist must possess the interpersonal skills necessary to ensure that optimum outcome is achieved in joint efforts.
· The LIS Specialist may also be called upon to support the information technology department on issues relating to upgrading or support of data systems that directly or indirectly provide services to lab personnel and equipment.
· The LIS Specialist will demonstrate a commitment to teamwork through effective collaboration efforts.
· Understand the safety rules and regulations, management techniques, laws, and legal interpretations which influence the practice of medical technology.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
· three years of experience with electronic health records (EHR) or Laboratory Information Systems (LIS).
· Knowledge of CLIA, COLA, and CAP regulatory requirements for accreditation.
· Knowledge of Clinical Laboratories processes and workflow preferred.
· Bachelor’s degree Preferred
