What You’ll Do!   

In this role, you will be responsible for a range of tasks including harvesting, drying, curing, trimming, and packaging cannabis flowers. Your keen understanding of cannabis anatomy and your ability to execute precise techniques will result in consistently high-quality products that meet our stringent standards. You will collaborate closely with the cultivation team to ensure a seamless transition from cultivation to post-harvest, while adhering to all relevant regulations and guidelines.  

 

Job Responsibilities: 

·        Trim harvested cannabis plants by precisely removing fan leaves, sugar leaves, and excess water leaves while preserving the main colas.  

·        Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the trimming room to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.  

·        Dry and cure cannabis plants by efficiently hanging and monitoring drying rooms to achieve optimal moisture content and flavor profiles.  

·        Conduct quality control inspections to identify and remove any damaged or unhealthy cannabis plants.  

·        Collaborate with the cultivation team to optimize harvesting schedules and ensure a smooth transition from cultivation to post-harvest.  

·        Package the trimmed cannabis flower following company standards, ensuring proper labeling, sealing, and compliance with legal requirements.  

·        Perform regular equipment maintenance and cleaning to ensure efficient and safe operations.  

·        Document and maintain accurate records of post-harvest activities for compliance and reporting purposes.  

·        Continuously stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulations related to post-harvest activities in the cannabis industry. 

Education & Qualifications: 

·        High school diploma or equivalent (college coursework in horticulture or related field preferred).  

·        Previous experience in a post-harvest or similar role within the cannabis or agriculture industry is a plus.  

·        Solid understanding of cannabis anatomy and the post-harvest process.  

·        Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards.  

·        Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.  

·        Excellent communication and teamwork skills.  

·        Willingness to adapt to evolving industry practices and company procedures.  

·        Physical capability to perform repetitive tasks and lift heavy loads as needed. 

Physical Requirements: 

·        Stand for extended periods while performing trimming and packaging tasks.  

·        Use fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination for meticulous trimming work.  

·        Work in a controlled environment with varying temperatures and humidity levels.  

·        Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including gloves, masks, and lab coats as required.  

·        Perform repetitive tasks such as trimming and packaging with accuracy and speed.  

·        Safely operate equipment and tools used in the post-harvest process.  

·        Maintain physical stamina for the duration of the work shift.  

·        Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a secure working environment. 

Exposure to fertilizer, dusts, odors, high heat, low temperature, high and low humidity, high noise levels, vibrations, water, dry salts, allergens, pollen, dust, plant pathogens, other volatile organic compounds, and other environmental variables.
