Working as part of our customer-facing team you will ensure that high quality and healthy food and drink are prepared and served to café and catering customers from a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. Be a positive role model and engage with students and faculty at every opportunity.
Responsibilities
- Preparing and serving food, making coffee and tea;
- Ensuring café is fully stocked at all times and can meet the menu at all times, notifying the manager promptly of any shortage;
- Clean the café areas, inside and outside and ensure they are hygienic at all times;
- Check that all café equipment is in good order and promptly report any damage;
- Follow the normal operating plan, ensuring correct opening and closing procedures are followed in a timely manner;
- Assist with preparing food for events;
- Uphold the highest standards of health and safety, cleanliness and professionalism and use your own initiative to respond quickly to issues or challenges that may arise when you are working;
- Welcome anyone who enters the café, creating a positive and welcoming environment
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience in food and beverage industry preferred
- Knowledge of catering practices preferred
- Ability to work well in a fast paced environment as part of a team
- Past customer service experience
- Attention to detail
- Reliable Transportation
- Physical Fitness (job may require standing for long periods of time)
