Position Summary

The Inventory Manager role requires a high level of detail, communication and compliance. The Inventory Manager establishes and maintains an efficient inventory control system, compliant with state law, using the METRC, Leaflogix, and any other software systems decided by the company/ownership. The Inventory Manager also organizes and directs the use of the company’s transportation license to maintain inventory needed in all store locations across the state. The Inventory Manager communicates the needs of the store's inventory to upper management or distributors, and maintains positive relationships with all courier services, distributors, and other outside vendors. The Inventory Manager audits store inventory performance regularly, researches and corrects inventory discrepancies, then advises the team of mitigation. The Inventory Manager must be willing to assist in all areas of dispensary operations, this includes cannabis sales, customer intake and flow, sales floor replenishment, and store cleanliness, as well as perform any other duties as assigned by the Regional Manager within the scope of responsibility.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Oversee all inventory control practices including but not limited to:

Menu & Inventory Level Monitoring

  • Run sell-through reports to gain accuracy on scheduled orders.
  • Check in with store managers and inventory specialists on a daily basis and assist with any inventory issues and/or needs.
  • Communicate all necessary happenings to the assigned DHSS Compliance officer in a timely and orderly fashion.
  • Monitor menus of all locations to ensure well balanced variety and reduce aging.
  • Coordinate promo schedule with each store inventory specialist and ensure product stock is ready for distribution ahead of time.
  • Ensure menus are kept current with stock/product/brands and have accurate description information and/or pictures present; check for any typos, discrepancies or mislabeled product.
  • Coordinate with other members of staff to ensure that all menu items stay updated with current information including: price, cost, ingredients, pictures.

Audits

  • Work in collaboration with the store managers in each location to schedule and carry out monthly inventory audits.
  • Gather and grade audits turned in by managers to gauge accuracy and compliance.
  • Develop and maintain SOP’s and best practices to ensure audits are completed in a timely & accurate manner.
  • Check reconciliation reports for:
  • Any notable Metrc errors.
  • Notable adjustments or human errors (ie. weighing errors, sticker errors, selling errors beyond 1 or 2 units).

METRC

  • Make sure packages are zeroed weekly.
  • Address any negatives ASAP.
  • Reconcile METRC weekly to facilitate proper communication between platforms..
  • File new and dispose of dead tags in a timely and orderly manner (Weekly audit).

Paperwork & Compliance

  • File invoices and manifests (monthly audit).
  • Complete Inventory Receipt Checklist.
  • Maintain vendor intake log.
  • Keep up to date with the changes in local and federal laws and regulations to ensure operational compliance.
  • Develop and maintain SOP’s and best practices to ensure inventory remains compliant.
  • Communicate changes to procedure to the Compliance Manager to ensure compliance changes are communicated in a timely and orderly fashion.

Communication & Logistics

  • Make sure all pertinent information is effectively communicated to members of upper management
  • Communicate and facilitate all returns to vendors, purchasing and management to ensure credits are being received.
  • Check with management about non-medicated products that may need to be included in transfers.
  • Facilitate transportation of all products between stores.
  • Maintain paperwork and manifests.

Qualifications, Skills & Abilities

Required:

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of inventory management experience. Management experience should include training and employee development.
  • Must be proficient in Windows and Google platforms.
  • A quick learner, passionate and takes pride in their work.
  • Knowledge of cannabis and regulations is required.
  • Must be able to delegate tasks to employees in a composed and respectful manner and is willing to lead by example.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and provide fingerprints for a background check.

Preferred:

  • Prior experience with METRC.
  • Flexible and can adapt to an ever changing work environment; constantly juggling many daily tasks at once.

Physical RequirementsAs an Inventory Manager you will be required to stand for long periods of time, moving about in confined spaces, bend, kneel, stretch, and reach. Must be able to lift and carry boxes that weigh 25 pounds or less, frequently; and occasionally lift and carry items over 50 pounds, following safety guidelines. The Inventory Manager will also sit for long periods of time, working on the computer. The Inventory Manager must have very good eyesight or use an assistive device to read very small print.

Travel

Regular travel between locations within the region will be required, driving a company or personal vehicle.
