What are the responsibilities and job description for the Boat Detailer position at Nautical Ventures?
Boat Detailer/Washer is responsible for cleaning the interior and exterior of boats and trailers up to the company standard. In addition, the Boat washer works well with others, has a deep sense of accountability, and can work safely at all times.
Responsibilities:
- Cleaning the interior and exterior of boats and trailers.
- Maintain clean and presentable boats and equipment on the sales floor and ready boats for delivery to the new owner.
- Perform final finish/detail on deliveries, in-stock, and service boats, including cleaning windows, upholstery, canvas, isinglass, bilges, fiberglass, and wood.
- Use of high-speed buffers and polishers to properly detail the exterior surfaces.
- Removing dust, grease, and oil from exterior surfaces of boats and trailers.
- Knowledge of proper products for safe detailing of vessels properly including but not limited to cleaners for various surfaces, degreasers, and waxes.
- Assist with cleaning and maintenance of the dealership to ensure a professional work environment conducive to selling.
- Assist with the setup of boat shows and other off-site promotional events.
- Promote a positive work attitude - exceed customer expectations.
- Fort-lift experience preferred.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrates attentiveness when customers are on the lot, assisting as needed.
- Proves reliability and discipline by following all timekeeping rules.
- Promotes team attitude and supports other team members, departments, and locations to ensure the customer has a seamless experience through the sale, delivery, and subsequent servicing of the boat.
- Preserves the professional image of the dealership through cleanliness.
- Effective detailing and cleaning of all assigned units.
- Attention to Detail, ability to learn about boats, and follow directions.
- Lift 10 lbs infrequently, Standing, Climbing, Constant use of Hands, Outdoors.

Position Type:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are generally Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. but are flexible based on need. Evening, night, and weekend work may be required as duties demand.
