What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineering Aide position at Navajo Tribal Utility Authority?
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
High School Diploma or GED Certificate.
Valid Driver's License required (subject to motor vehicle record review)
6 - 12 months experience in Natural Gas Construction, Operation and Maintenance.
Experience in CAD Software
Experience in Drafting, staking, surveying, and water/wastewater construction.
Proficient in Microsoft computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Office & Outlook)
Navajo Speaking is preferred.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES
Works with NTUA project manager to coordinate with Navajo Nation chapters, and other entities to locate homes for services based on customer applications.
Accompanies NTUA representative at meetings with customers, communities, consultants, and contractors. Prepare drawings, pictures, estimates, & documents for presentation use.
Communicates with customers by phone, email, and in person to gather location information & documentation. Including, confirming home site location, existing utilities, & site conditions.
With assistance, utilizes NTUA software to create projects, work orders, input updates to project status, and project close outs.
Assists in gathering site information to support - feasibility study, design, construction, as-builts, and project close out. Including surveying, existing utility identification, field notes, and pictures.
Assists with the preparation of engineering line designs, drafting and printing, construction feasibility, and cost estimating for utility lines.
Assists in construction monitoring, including, preconstruction meetings, field inspections, documentation of project progress, witness pressure testing, verification of as-built information, and final inspections.
Monitors and documents project progress, updates work order text, and provides reports to project manager.
Coordinates with NTUA project manager and Contractor / Consultant, changes additional work. Provides field notes, measurements, pictures to clarify proposed work.
Maintains archive plans, keep in organized and neat order. Utilizes archived plan sets to search for as-built information in proposed project areas and perform field verifications.
Performs other duties as assigned.
