The Legacy of Orangeburg is seeking a thorough Maintenance Technician to undertake the responsibility to preserve the good condition and functionality of an independent living community. You will perform maintenance tasks of great variety such as painting, HVAC installations, landscaping etc. A Maintenance Technician is a professional with a practical mind and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will be able to work autonomously and responsibly by observing all health and safety guidelines. The goal is to maintain the buildings and common areas in the best possible condition.
Weekend Part-Time (3p-11p) Shift available.
- Minimum (4) four years of related Facilities Maintenance experience in Senior Living, Hospitality or Multi Family and some formal training in at least one of the following areas: Carpentry, Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC, Appliance Repair, Remodeling.
- Ability to perform general maintenance repair needs at assigned communities, problem solve, plan, organize, communicate, and cooperate with others.
- Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
- Exceptional customer service skills and strong communication skills.
- Must possesses own tools to perform daily maintenance tasks.
- Basic knowledge of Commercial building codes and OSHA safety regulations.
- Ability to follow instructions and to accept constructive criticism.
- Willingness to seek out new methods and participate and be able to incorporate them into existing maintenance practices.
- Highly motivated self starter with ability to multi-task and adapt in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to effectively follow written and oral instructions.
- Must have valid state driver’s license.
