Job Title: Endoscopy Technician
Location: Marietta, GA
Shift Time: 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM
Shifts per week: 4
Hours per shift: 10
On-Call: Weekends and holidays as per unit requirements
Job Summary:
- As an Endoscopy Technician I, you'll assist nurses and physicians with patient care during endoscopic procedures. You'll help prepare procedure rooms, ensure sterile environments, handle instruments and supplies, and support scope reprocessing. A key part of the job is maintaining infection control standards.
Responsibilities:
- Proficient in general endoscopy procedures, equipment, and cleaning.
- Prepares equipment and supplies for scheduled, emergent, or urgent procedures.
- Provides technical assistance during procedures and anticipates the needs of the physician and RN.
- Ensures infection control principles are followed.
- Works collaboratively as a team member.
- Assists in daily assignments and work distribution for department efficiency.
- Supports quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
- High school diploma or GED required.
Certifications:
- SGNA GI Tech Specialist certification required within 90 days of hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Experience:
- No prior endoscopy experience is required. On-the-job training will be provided, with documentation of orientation and competency.
