Basic Purpose
To supervise and direct staff in a centralized print shop production operation. Provide technical direction and coordinate print job requests from business units/functions. Ensure adherence to quality and safety standards. Provides immediate supervision of the daily activities of a shift, unit or small section.
Working Conditions

• Exposure to above normal noise levels
• Protective shoes, gloves, masks, and ear guards areprovided to prevent injury to materials handling ornoise levels
• Hands may become soiled in various shop tasks
Responsibilities
• Plan, supervise, and control day-to-day activities involved in print production operations
• Establish and maintain production schedule to satisfy print priorities
• Maintain effective workflow and tracking by ensuring production software is up-to-date with current cost andtime factors
• Provide guidance and instruction to employees in the use of equipment
• Supervise paper, ink and chemical stock levels to ensure first quality products
• Ensure proper equipment performance by understanding multiple software platforms and how they interfacewith internal computer systems
• Supervise daily physical inventory of high usage and critical items
• Establish and maintain an active walk up copy center to service Business Units at Headquarters and processrequests from remote locations
• Ensure staff training and adherence to safe usage and disposal procedures of chemicals used in daily production
• Analyze work quality, work methods and procedures; recommend and implement improvements – Advanced
• Work with Business Units’ management to determine production requirements and objectives – Advanced
• Provide regular updates to requestor on production process and projected completion to ensure compliance withservice level agreements
• Maintain monthly production reports to monitor section performance
• Provide print production support for various Navy Federal functions (e.g., Toys for Tots, Annual Meeting, etc.)
• Manage preventative maintenance of equipment and software packages; initiates repair and maintenance
• Select and manage vendors and contracts – Lead
• Monitor receipt of goods/services; certifies invoices for payment
• Perform supervisory/managerial responsibilities
• Ensure adequate/skilled staffing; select employees
• Establish performance goals and priorities
• Prepare, conduct, and review performance appraisals
• Develop, mentor and counsel staff
• Provide input and/or prepare budget requirements for Annual Financial Plan (AFP)
• Ensure section/branch goals and objectives align with division/department strategy
• Ensure efficiency of operations
• Leadership Level
• Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Printing Technology or the equivalent combination of education, training or experience
• Experience supervising/managing print center operations
• Extensive experience in digital and offset print production
• Advanced knowledge of printing equipment and materials
• Advanced knowledge of all facets of print production: Prepress, preflight, offset press, digital printing, bindery, mass mail and fulfilment
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations
• Effective skill to troubleshoot software/hardware problems
• Effective skill exercising initiative and using good judgment to make sound decisions
• Effective skill interacting with staff, management, vendors, members diplomatically & tactfully
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Advanced organizational, planning and time management skills
• Effective research, analytical, and problem solving skills
• Experience leading, guiding, and mentoring others
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Effective skill in the use of PCs and related software packages
Desired Qualifications
• Knowledge of Navy Federal’s processes, products and services
• Knowledge of the supply chain management and receiving/shipping functions
• Experience using Ricoh Process Director (RPD)
Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:30AM - 4:00PM

Salary Range: $33.50 - $42.00 hourly
