What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Lead position at Nazdar?
This position will provide floor leadership in Nazdar’s Processing department. This individual will be a working lead, rotating through different departments and shifts as directed by the Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement Manager performing work force activities to ensure quality products are produced in a safe and efficient manner to meet customers’ needs. Specific duties include but are not limited to:
- Coordinate Utility and Batch personnel (as needed) to meet production schedule.
- Assist Managers in reporting daily hours worked for processing personnel.
- Anticipate and control bottleneck problems in the processing areas
- Assign work to Processing personnel.
- Monitor that all processing work is being performed in support of ISO 9001 requirements, Work Instructions, and Job Aides.
- Maintain a safe environment with employee involvement. Maintain safety requirements; safety glasses, ground clips, steel toe shoes, personal protection equipment, or any other safety item or issue not listed.
- Coordinate relevant training and cross-training of subordinates and ensure all documentation is complete.
- Insure all equipment is operating properly. Report inoperable equipment immediately.
- Will be a working lead, working in Utility or Batch as needed.
- Perform job according to pre-established safety, quality, and efficiency standard operating procedures.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Minimum Education, Skills, and Experience Required:
- Required:
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the production environment.
- A proven history of excellent performance both in work behaviors and results.
- Able to work and supervise during designated hours and departments as requested by Manufacturing Manager.
- Excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of leading, training, and mentoring individuals.
Preferred:
- Previous supervisory experience (lead or supervisor) preferably in a production environment.
- Microsoft office experience: Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Other system experience highly preferred (M3)
