The Challenge
We're looking for an experienced Engineering Specialist to join our Cherokee Construction Engineering team.
In this role, you will:
- Serve as our Survey Party Chief in our Cherokee Construction Office.
- Perform survey work on complex construction projects.
- Supervise survey crews and junior technicians.
- Make independent decisions
- Communicate with coworkers, contractors, and the public.
- Review contractor survey submittals.
- Provide checks of contractor construction layouts in the field.
What You Bring
- Experience using surveying equipment, instruments, levels, data collectors, and GPS equipment.
- Math experience, including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
- Experience performing highway construction stakeouts.
- Experience conducting independent, moderately complex surveying.
- Computer skills using Microsoft Office and drafting applications.
- Ability to read, interpret, and explain construction plans, contract provisions, and specification/inspection procedures.
- Safety toe shoes.
Notes
- You will be exposed to outside environmental hazards and confined areas.
- You may be required to work nights and weekends.
Education & Experience
- Associate's degree in Engineering Technology, Survey Technology, or a related field, and
- 7 years of progressive technician experience; or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
