Correctional Behavioral Specialist II
The Correctional Behavioral Specialist II position is located at North Carolina Correctional Institute for Women. The position responsibilities include the following:
- Documentation in the healthcare record, facilitation of psychoeducational groups, creating group activities, and offering feedback/clinical impressions as part of a treatment team.
- Facilitation of curriculum-based and leisure activity groups and provision of individual support to offenders.
- Responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and inventorying supplies used for programming.
- Monitor offenders as they work on treatment goals and serve as an active member of the multidisciplinary treatment team.
- Monitor the adjustment of offenders and implement specific techniques aimed at stress management, social skill development, adapting to the demands of prison environment, and planning for return to the community.
Employee’s supportive counseling role includes use of Crisis Intervention techniques and referral to clinical staff for follow-up.
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits.
About the NC Correctional Institution for Women:
The North Carolina Correctional Institution for Women in Raleigh is the state's primary correctional facility for women. It houses the largest female offender population in the state and serves as the support facility for the state's other female offenders. This Institution houses up to 1700 offenders. The Healthcare Facility employees approximately 260 full time employees.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree in psychology or other human services field from an appropriately accredited institution with several classes in psychology, and one year of experience in some area of behavioral health; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Note: Candidates being considered for a position in Diagnostics require at least 2 years of experience administering and/or conducting psychological testing.

Pay: $32,703.00 - $51,904.00 per year
