We are a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting Individuals with Developmental Disabilities, by providing Vocational and Community Living Services. We have been serving Individuals with Developmental Disabilities in San Luis Obispo County and Monterey County since 1980. We strive to provide quality services that focus on promoting independence and inclusion for adults with intellectual and/or physical disabilities through vocational training, education and adaptive living skills programs, advocacy, and community living services.

Essential Duties Include:
Maintain a courteous, positive, enthusiastic, well-mannered and professional demeanor while working with Individuals served and the community.
Assist individuals within their personal residence with training and supports that foster independent living and inclusion within the community, including, but not limited to: assisting with doctor’s appointments and managing prescriptions, budgeting and banking, developing weekly menu/meal prep/shopping, finding or maintain housing, daily living skills, and other in-home support needs
Provide individuals with continuous instructions for continued independence and training objectives that guarantee and correspond with abilities and development.
Provide data collection of Individual’s skills, overall health, living conditions and other applicable notes in their log notes.
Provide hands-on support, positive reinforcement, redirection, and feedback to the individual and/or their supervisor and case manager.
Understand and submit all paperwork as required by deadline including transportation paperwork, attendance, job coach notes, objective sheets, incident/accident reports, and case management documentation.
Act as an advocate for the individual to ensure they are able to feel inclusive within their communities as a contributing member; you are also a State Mandated Reporter
Education / Experience:
A high school education or equivalent is required. Previous experience working with Individuals with Developmental Disabilities is preferred. Formal caregiving or in-home experience not required, but preferred; training is provided!
Qualifying Specifications:
Must have own vehicle/reliable transportation
Must maintain a current California driver’s license.
Must provide on-going proof of current state required auto insurance.
Must have an acceptable driving record as determined by criteria established by the agency’s insurance carrier.
Must clear fingerprints through the California Department of Justice and the FBI.
Must successfully complete First Aid / CPR training (Training is offered onsite)
Physical Requirements:
Essential functions of this position require that employees regularly sit, stand, bend, twist and walk.
Employees may occasionally be required to lift or move up to 50 lbs.
