EEO/AA/M/F/Disabled/Vets Job Description : The Process Excellence Specialist (BU Stakeholder Management) will be responsible for a wide variety of high priority Business Unit stakeholder initiatives for Executive Leadership, including designing and managing new and existing technologies. This individual will empower the ability to provide world class, innovative service to our News Corp business unit clients across a variety of value-added initiatives. This important role will be accountable for identifying and implementing business process improvements and efficiencies that will support News Corp business Unit performance and help drive innovation. The Process Excellence Specialist will work with and develop strong business partnerships across News Corp to identify long-term strategic and short-term tactical opportunities to create greater efficiencies in processes, systems and resource optimization. As a change agent, this individual will help create a new center of excellence program that will focus on continuous improvement and transformation initiatives. This role will provide thought leadership, research and consulting specialization to the business units. Primary Accountabilities: Partner with process leads and other stakeholders to implement process improvement and transformation efforts across all processes, documenting those processes, diagnosing inefficiencies, and overseeing the completion of projects to work towards an optimized future state Design, develop, and maintain automated workflows Serve as tan “internal consultant” to assist all departments in solving complex problems, managing key projects, and driving toward solutions that add net present value (NPV) across the organization. Lead a diverse variety of key strategic projects for the Business Unit Stakeholders Promote and help roll out the Continuous Improvement program – improving quality, efficiency, and performance for all processes Drive development of detailed improvement proposals and presentation of business case to gain buy-in of key stakeholders Bridge understanding across technology and business stakeholder groups, assuring value realization of technology projects and support Apply superior project and resource management skills to execute project implementations and deliver results on time Job Responsibilities: Work with senior management to establish and stabilize the Process Excellence function by defining the group’s standards and governance, tools, and methodology; build the existing base of executive sponsorship; build the project pipeline and prioritization criteria; establish communication and training plans; and commence initial process improvement projects Provide mentoring and employee development guidance to staff with constructive feedback on projects, goals and accomplishments. Identify opportunity areas where process management and reengineering can significantly impact efficiency, quality, profitability, and customer satisfaction. Solicit, collect and prioritize business process improvement candidate projects Assess current processes, identify defects, areas of improvement, and “to-be” process design, assist in transition planning Lead process owners, stakeholders and subject matter experts through the improvement process and manage expectations. Assess organizational change readiness, perform needs Work closely with business unit subject matter experts, training them as “change agents” Facilitate process improvement meetings and workshops, including business process re-engineering sessions, brainstorming sessions and various process improvement events Develop documentation including procedures, business guidelines, checklists, templates, etc. Focus on improvement opportunities by evaluating, in detail, a current operation from start to finish, analyzing this information to find areas of waste, duplication and frequent errors, developing a plan to implement changes, monitoring the results of the changes to ensure they are working, making continuous improvements and adjustments to maintain efficient operations Recommend and clarify priorities and coordinate cross-organizational association where common needs have been identified; assess upstream and downstream impacts and integrations Advise on options, risks and costs versus benefits and impact on other business processes and business systems Determine the most appropriate metrics to apply to Process Excellence initiatives and projects Develop, implement, update, and maintain strategy and methodology for business process excellence/continuous improvement Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Strategic Planning, or technology-related discipline. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a business-related field with responsibility leading process improvement projects. Critical Competencies: The Process Excellence Specialist must have the ability to motivate team members, foster strong relationships, drive change, and facilitate problem solving discussions. Strong project management skills Ability to organize and manage multiple projects Advanced creative thinking skills Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, including oral, written, facilitation, mediation, collaboration, and presentation skills Demonstrated competence in collecting, analyzing and developing appropriate conclusions and recommendations. Ability to set and meet deadlines Demonstrated ability to lead team members by providing clear direction, coaching, mentoring, and constructive feedback Overall business acumen with the ability to find the simplest, best path to solutions Extensive experience in analyzing business processes Experience in business process modeling, as well as in process improvement methodologies and tools Exceptional negotiation skills Track record interacting with all areas of the business Ability to work independently as well to work effectively in a team-based environment Job Category: NYC Pay Range: $60,000 - $150,000 We recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company. The quoted salary range represents our good faith estimate as to what our ideal candidates are likely to expect, and we tailor our offers within the range based on the selected candidate's experience, industry knowledge, location, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the interview process.
