POSITION: Automotive Technology Instructor

LOCATION: NDSCS – Wahpeton, North Dakota

TYPE OF APPOINTMENT: Full-time, 9-month, benefited position

JOB SUMMARY: Responsibilities include teaching course related to Automotive Technology. Additional duties include curriculum development and revision, student advising, assessment, student recruitment, and participation in assigned departmental, divisional and college committees and activities.

SALARY: Starting at $55,231 commensurate with education and experience

• Must support the mission, vision, and values of NDSCS
• Two-year degree in automotive technology or related area plus 3 years relevant work experience in the automotive technology or related field OR equivalent education and experience
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Computer and technology literate
• Motivated, self-directed and able to work effectively and professional with students & staff in a team setting
• Ability to articulate and support the two-year postsecondary college philosophy with a commitment to teaching and learning in a two-year college setting
• Flexibility to meet the needs of students
• Willingness to teach students with varying levels of ability
• Able and willing to keep current in the field

• Associate in Applied Science degree
• ASE Certification
• Experience in one or more of the following areas: engine performance, automatic transmission, engine mechanical, electrical/electronics, steering and suspension, manual drive trains, HVAC systems
• Teaching or training experience
• Experience with or willingness to develop and/or teach courses online or via other distance delivery methods
