What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head of Delivery position at Neara?

Join our diverse team as Neara’s Head of Delivery based in the US, where your leadership and geospatial expertise will be crucial in meeting growing, global project deliverables. Your role will be instrumental in aligning our delivery department to meet customer deadlines with precision and high-quality outcomes. As a senior leader, you will define optimal team structures, embed best practices and delegate workload distribution to prevent burnout or bottlenecks, foster cross-region collaboration, and enhance overall resource planning.
You’re a hands-on project delivery leader with solid SaaS implementation experience who is ready to tackle a new challenge in a scaling SaaS organization. You’re as comfortable getting hands-on with software as you are in improving project delivery systems and processes; and you enjoy leading, coaching and mentoring a team of experienced implementations specialists.
When you join Neara, you will be given structured onboarding and in-depth product training from our Sydney, Australia Office to ensure you have a thorough understanding of our platform and customers. This will be essential in ensuring your success in reviewing, improving and scaling our delivery processes as well as building strong relationships with the teams and stakeholders who will be integral to your success.
Some of the things you will do:
- Lead the delivery team, providing motivation, delegation, training, and support.
- Maintain quality service delivery by establishing and embedding delivery standards and improving processes.
- Improve productivity by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in tools, training, processes, reporting, resource planning etc.
- Resolve issues, ensuring a proactive, fast path to resolution for all customers.
- Ensure that we have rigorous processes to testing and go-live processes
- Report on project status to leadership
- Develop an expert level working knowledge of the Neara platform.
- Review and improve project delivery methodologies including: Project kick-off, scoping, delivery, quality control, change management, training, support and hand-over.
- Maintain leading-edge knowledge of relevant technologies and suggest use cases for exploration.
- Monitor emerging technologies and industry trends, making recommendations for enhancements and advancements to support the team and company's mission.
Some attributes we highly regard:
- Electric utility industry and / or GIS/CAD experience essential.
- Leadership experience in managing global teams.
- Self-motivated, solutions-driven, detail-oriented, assertive and organized
- Experience troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues
- Proficiency in cloud-based applications
- Experience with programming, PLS CADD and / or LiDAR highly advantageous
