PRIMARY PURPOSE AND FUNCTION

Responsible for all daily operations within the Operations Center. Focus on innovative and creative ways to achieve desired results in the areas of accuracy, productivity, service, cost effectiveness and growth and development of operation employees.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Know and abide by the corporate core values

· Direct activities related to dispatching, routing, and tracking of all transportation vehicles.

· Plan, organize and manage the work of subordinate staff to ensure that the work is accomplished in a manner consistent with organizational requirements

· Direct investigations to verify and resolve customer or shipper complaints.

· Make a positive addition to the workplace culture

· Proactively identifying problems and implementing effective solutions

· Monitor spending to ensure that expenses are consistent with approved budgets.

· Develop current team members and train new hires

· Set operational and key performance goals

· Serve as contact persons for all workers within assigned department

· Monitor employee hours to ensure that expenses are consistent with approved budgets

· Prepare management recommendations, such as proposed fee and tariff increases or schedule changes

· Support customer relationships oversee profit and cost controls, and ensure safety, service, and quality measures are implemented, audited, and monitored for correction.

· Collaborate with other managers and staff members in order to formulate and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives

· Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

· Ability to demonstrate strong customer service tendencies

· Demonstrated problem solving with people skills

· Competent in MS Office Products, and efficient in email and internet applications

· High school diploma or equivalency required

· Proven oral and written skills required

· High accuracy in work, attention to detail

· Flexibility to assist in covering Primary Operations shifts when needed

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

· Sitting for long periods of time

· Frequent alpha/numeric keyboarding

· Oral communication over phone and in person

· Ability to view computer monitor

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
