Job Description:

Headquartered in Lincoln, Nebraska, the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) employs nearly 2,300 team members operating nine institutions, which house approximately 5,200 inmates, statewide. The department's focus includes inmate programming and education, physical and behavioral health care, re-entry services, and community programs, and is accredited by the American Correctional Association (ACA). DUTIES:
Process and track Health Services purchase orders for contract medical providers and medical supplies/equipment for all facilities. Collaborate with Purchasing division and Health Services Business Manager for forms control of health services related documents and supplier contracts. Responsible for accounts payable requests and justification for purchase. Provide administrative support for Health Services executives which may include answering phones, setting up meetings and taking minutes. Submit network authorizations for health services team members, including contractors and agency staff. Order service awards and central warehouse supplies. Work in conjunction with other administrative staff to complete annual Medical Protocols, Nurse Procedures, and Nurse Treatment Protocols. Assist Health Services Administrator to assure compliance with fire marshal inspections, lab certificate licensure waivers for all facilities, radiation equipment certificates for facilities, and SNF licensure.

REQUIREMENTS: At least one year of post high school coursework or experience in: administration, office management, accounting, finance, planning, policy analysis and implementation, administrative/management analysis, operations research, program evaluation, research, or similar fields or in a field related to the programs or functions of the employing agency.

PREFERRED: Experience using Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Outlook. Experience in medical related field.

OTHER: Applicants accepting a job offer must pass the following pre-employment exams in this order: medical examination, and randomly announced drug test. Once at the Staff Training Academy, must successfully complete the fully paid Nebraska Corrections Training Program.

Able to collaborate in a team environment as a team member. Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). Strong organizing skills. Able to multi-task. Good communication skills.
