The State of Nebraska, Department of Health and Human Services is seeking a Mental Health & Substance Use Disorder Program Coordinator to join our Health Services unit within the Medicaid and Long-Term Care Division.

Effective July 1. 2023, wage will increase to $25.061 / hr.

In this position you will be coordinating for the Behavioral Health and Substance Use Program and assure compliance with State and Federal requirements.

If you are licensed as a Mental Health Practitioner (LMHP) or (LIMHP) with billing and clinical experience, WE NEED YOU! This is preferred, not required.

As a Mental Health & Substance Use Disorder Program Coordinator, you will:
• Act as a resource for other staff, clients and providers regarding Behavioral Health and Substance Use Program
• Conduct research and attend meetings to address areas of concern and needs
• Will serve as a subject matter expert for Behavioral Health and Substance Use Services in regard to system change requests
• Will have knowledge of regulations, review, analyze, and responsible for implementing requirements of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services
• Serve as a liaison with various federal and state authorities, agency staff, and divisional personnel REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in business or public administration, social/behavioral sciences, health sciences, public health, education, law or related field OR experience in the development of operational policies and procedures, performing quality assurance analysis/evaluation of programs; grant writing, contract management, or leading community based health/social care groups. Related coursework, training and/or education may substitute for the Bachelor's degree on a year-for year basis.

PREFERRED: Licensed Mental Health Professional (LMHP) or Licensed Independent Mental Health Professional (LIMHP). At least 5 years of clinical and billing experience. Experience working with Medicaid Clientele. Knowledge of: the principles and practices of public administration; procedure and policy development; methods and techniques of program planning; federal and state laws, rules, regulations and procedures pertaining to health and human services programs; public funds and budgeting methods; quality assurance mechanisms; principles and techniques of planning, monitoring and evaluating human services programs and service delivery systems.

Skill in: interpreting and/or clarifying policy to interested groups; conducting formal presentations to provide education and share information.

Ability to: plan, organize and direct a major program; work collaboratively in a team setting; analyze, develop and organize materials; establish and maintain positive relationships with agency staff, service providers.
