What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paralegal position at Nebraska State Patrol?
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION

- Paralegal certification/degree preferred; may substitute for years of paralegal experience

- Ability to see the bigger picture and anticipate consequences of decisions across the agency
- Ability to prioritize, re-prioritize, and organize workload in response to evolving division needs
- Should possess a thorough knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software
- Ability to simplify complex problems and build solutions
- Attention to detail and accuracy, dedication to confidentiality, and comfortable working in a “need to know” environment
- Capability to own projects, write, and negotiate often under minimal supervision
- Solid understanding of typical Litigation Paralegal tasks
- Grasp and support the same goals as everyone in the Legal Division
REQUIREMENTS: Associate's degree in Paralegal Studies from an American Bar Association approved program at an accredited college or successful completion of a program at an American Bar Association approved paralegal institute. Experience may be substituted for education on a year for year basis.
