What are the responsibilities and job description for the Purchasing Supervisor position at NEC Labs?
We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced purchasing specialist to lead the daily activities of our purchasing department. The responsibilities include:
Purchasing
Purchasing
- Monitors and ensures requisitioning, purchasing and receiving processes comply with policies including SOX compliance.
- Maintains SaaS purchasing system.
- Reviews purchase requisitions and purchase orders, negotiates prices and terms, and expedites delivery of goods and services, solicit quotes and selects vendors.
- Reviews contracts for purchases and services with company lawyer when necessary.
- Reviews invoices for payment.
- Prepares monthly capital report.
- Oversees Receiving functions.
- Supervises and trains purchasing and receiving/facilities team. Sets goals, administers work duties, assigns special projects, writes reviews, etc.
- Assists management in reviewing and analyzing requirements for special projects, acts as Project Manager as needed.
Office Administration
- Coordinates furniture installations and office moves and assignments.
- Oversees and monitors food, beverages and supplies in break areas. Maintains service on equipment.
- Coordinates special meeting requests for equipment and food.
- Administers claims to insurance company.
- Keeps hotel information up-to-date and works with NEC-J in preparation for annual agreements.
- Liaison for exports and imports, coordinates with corporate trade compliance and third party logistics company.
- Administers corporate credit card program for travel and purchasing.
Office Facilities
- Serves as liaison between NEC Labs and building management company.
- Coordinates and oversees building projects within NEC Labs space.
- Maintains office facilities and reports requests, repairs, and problems to building management company for resolution.
- Prepares office/lab/common areas for inspections.
- Communicates building management projects and activities.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Broad knowledge of purchasing, office management and facilities
- 3-5 years’ experience in related area as an individual contributor; at least 2 years prior supervisory experience
- Strong computer skills including SaaS purchasing system, MS365 a plus
- Strong negotiating skills, organized, detail oriented, proactive, self-starter
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
