Job description

Well-established Electrical Contractor seeking a Electrical Journeyman/Journeywoman in the commercial and residential electrical service field. Candidate must hold a current state of Texas journeyman/journeywoman license, pass a background check and drug test. Competitive pay based on experience.

Job Purpose: Install new electrical systems and repair existing electrical systems while maintaining compliance with national, state, and local electrical codes along with all the policies and procedures of Nemmer Electric, Inc. / NEI Datacom. Support activities at commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential locations.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

· Install, repair, maintain, and test commercial, industrial, and residential electrical systems in full support of Nemmer Electric Inc., / NEI Datacom safety operations and productivity initiatives.

· Use of industry related hand and power tools.

· Measure, cut, bend, thread, etc., and install wire and electrical cable systems, conduit systems and other wire raceway systems.

· Feed, pull, and terminate wire and cable within control centers, distribution boxes, transformers, transducers, switch gears, receptacles, switches, etc.

· Splice and terminate wires at junction points.

· Troubleshoot equipment, electrical systems and control circuits.

· Prepare sketches and schematic diagrams showing the location of wiring and electrical systems.

· Communicate effectively with Supervisor and crew members.

· Maintain workflow schedule to ensure all Nemmer Electric Inc. productivity objectives are met.

· Demonstrate the highest level of professionalism and courtesy when interacting with colleagues, customers, and vendors.

· Adhere to all Nemmer Electric Inc., / NEI Datacom safety policies and procedures.

Desired Skills, Experience and Education:

· Must hold a current state of Texas Journeyman/Journeywoman License or Master Electrician’s license.

· Experience supervising and managing apprentices

· Proficient in conduit bending and routing

· Demonstrate strong leadership and pre-planning abilities

· Ability to install power systems: lighting, fire protection, security, and data network

· Ability to troubleshoot and provide maintenance to electrical systems

· Proficient in reading and comprehension of electrical blueprints

· Experience finding and repairing faults in electrical systems and circuits

· Ability to verify compliance and functionality of installations

· Ability to manage materials and estimates

· Excellent verbal and written skills

· Be able to use various types of hand and power tools in a safe manner

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

(Physical/Environmental requirements could be repetitive throughout the standard workday, every day)

· Must be willing to work overtime & weekends as job needs require

· Safely lift up to 100lbs

· Ability to safely climb ladders and push/pull wire and conduit

· Physically capable of climbing, squatting, stooping, bending and/or kneeling while wearing a 25lb tool belt

· Be willing and able to stand for long periods of time while performing repetitive actions

· Must have the ability to do tedious work with hands such as grasping and/or manipulating wires

· Ability to work off ladders, man lifts or boom lifts

· Be able to work in high traffic and noisy work environments effectively and efficiently

· Work in all weather conditions, such as extreme cold, snow, rain, hail, extreme heat, etc.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $30.00 per hour
