Neighborhood Health – Behavioral Health Provider

Exempt, 40 Hours

Our goal is simple: improving access to healthcare in our community and surrounding areas.  Due to expansion, Neighborhood Health is looking to add a Behavioral Health Provider to our team.  Together, we are all committed to building healthier communities by delivering comprehensive, quality health care with compassion and respect.  

 

As a Behavioral Health Provider, you will:

  • Counsels clients and patients, individually and in group sessions, to assist in overcoming dependencies, adjusting to life, and developing effecting coping skills.

         -Maintains confidentiality of records relating to client’s treatment.  

  • Provides psychoeducation and skill development to manage life challenges.  Encourage clients to express their feelings and to discuss what is happening in their lives and helps them develop insight into themselves and their relationships.
  • Collects information about clients through interviews, observations and assessments.  Prepares treatment plans, records, and reports. 
  • Evaluates clients’ physical or mental condition based upon review of client interviews, observations, and assessments.  

        -Develops and implements treatment plans based on clinical experience and knowledge.

        -Acts as clients advocate to coordinate required services or to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations. 

        -Assess for suicidal thoughts, plans, and means.   Make appropriate referrals to ensure client safety and effective treatment. 

  • Works as a team member with primary care staff in meeting the behavioral health needs of our patients.
  • Provides evidence-based behavioral health assessments and treatment.

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of three years post-graduate experience, in a community-based health or social service organization preferred.  
  • Possession of the appropriate state credentials and licensing or license eligibility required.

Education Requirements:

  • Graduate degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or Marriage and Family Counseling from an accredited institution.
