NeighborWorks® Boise (NWB) is a local nonprofit that envisions safe, sustainable homes as the bedrock for a stronger Idaho. We're looking for a detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to join our Homeownership Center Department. As part of our dynamic team, you'll support both our Lending department (NHS Lending) and Homebuyer Education and Counseling programs. Reporting to the Director of the Homeownership Center, you'll play a crucial role in our mission to provide innovative housing solutions for underserved populations. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The Administrative Assistant will provide essential administrative support to the NHS Lending department and HUD certified housing counselors. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Customer Service
- Answer and direct incoming calls to the lending and counseling departments efficiently
- Refer callers to other organizations or agencies for additional services as necessary
- Retrieve and return phone messages within one business day.
- Contact delinquent borrowers via phone and mail, taking appropriate action to bring accounts current
- Direct visitors to the appropriate personnel and schedule appointments with lending and counseling staff
- Respond to emails and digital inquiries for the HOC department
- Collect required documentation from applicants for lending and counseling services and ensure files are complete, accurate, and verified
Administrative Support
- Perform loan servicing tasks and assist with delinquency reporting and monthly statements
- Order necessary documentation such as credit reports, title reports, and insurance documents
- Support the Housing Counseling Team by providing information, processing intake forms, and managing client files
- Assist both counseling and lending departments with reports as needed
- Handle copying, document assembly, and preparation of summaries
- Organize office supplies and purchase supplies as needed
- Manage incoming mail and distribute it accordingly
- Assist with Lending Committee logistics, agenda preparation, meeting minutes, and communications
- Coordinate logistics and prepare materials for meetings, classes, and seminars
- Perform any other duties as assigned
File System Management
- Maintain filing and storage closet in accordance with document retention policy
- Maintains physical and digital filing systems for both Lending and Counseling (Ensure organization and client privacy when handling documents)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proficient in written and oral communication, ideally in both Spanish and English
- Effective time management abilities, including the capacity to anticipate needs and work flexibly (availability for occasional evenings and weekends)
- Strong technological proficiency coupled with administrative skills
- Sensitivity towards diverse and low-income populations
- Demonstrated traits of enthusiasm, trustworthiness, personal integrity, and honesty
- Familiarity with lending and servicing is advantageous but not mandatory
- Self-motivated with keen attention to detail, committed to rapid skill acquisition and application
- Adherence to client confidentiality and dignity
Education and Experience
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent educational attainment
- 1-2 years of experience in customer service, reception, or office administration
- Prior experience in Mortgage or Real Estate industries (1-2 years) is preferred, but not required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Publisher, Outlook, etc.) is essential
- Bilingual proficiency in English/Spanish is strongly preferred

Compensation: Starting $18.00 or DOE
Location: Boise Office (In-person position, no remote options available for this role.)
