Looking for an Quality Engineer with 2 – 5 years work experience in manufacturing quality. Must have customer interaction skills, both verbal and written, for claims handling as well as a solid quality foundation to drive improvement through RCCA, CAPA, and 8D analysis. The Quality Engineer is responsible for urgently investigating and driving corrective action projects for site complaints and systemic issues. This individual develops and maintains highly effective relationships with all site and commercial team members and customers by communicating frequently and timely. Responsible for implementing product and process improvement initiatives. Drives quality culture throughout site.
Successful candidate will have strong quality foundation (quality methodology, tools, data analytics), experience working directly with customers, manufacturing exposure with continuous operations (web handling and/or coating operations preferred), supervisory skills as you will be responsible for quality technicians, and the ability to effectively communicate to all levels of the organization. Chemical Engineering degree preferred but will consider other engineering disciplines as well.
This position is based in South Plainfield, NJ but will also support our other location in Lakewood, NJ.
Organization Development
Achieve site internal/external Quality site metric. Enhance quality processes and testing methods. Drive root cause/corrective action projects for systemic or trending issues to drive site quality improvement. Implement and facilitate corrective actions for internal and external customer complaints. Urgently respond to all customer technical and/or quality concerns. New inquiries Claim closure < 30 days
Communicate and manage claim investigation, including providing response timelines expectations, with customers and internal team (BDMs, Operations Manager and customer service). Inform production department of all quality non-conformances, working as necessary to facilitate corrective actions. Authorize, disposition and track MRB material (targeting Partner with supply chain to facilitate cross-functional investigations regarding supplier complaint resolution. Document and formally report all quality complaints monthly, including status and steps taken to prevent re-occurrence (customer complaints, material held in impound, supplier claims, project updates, etc.) Develop a robust knowledge of products, applications, and end-use processes. Detail oriented and ability to effectively learn manufacturing processes.
