Nelnet functions as the originator, underwriter, fund manager, and lead investor for others looking to access the asset class. We are seeking an experienced capital markets professional to help grow our co-investor base by bringing in new partners. This position will report the Director of Tax Equity Capital Markets.
This position will be integral in identifying investors, creating a relationship to familiarize them with the investment opportunity, coordinating projects with the deal team (including legal and accounting), obtaining funding from the investor, and ongoing investor relations throughout the duration of the investment. In addition, other responsibilities include participation in project due diligence and financial modeling. A strong acumen of partnership taxation, federal tax credits, business development, and investor relations is required.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prospect, identify, and reach out to decision makers of entities that are potential tax credit investors (banks, insurance companies, ESG-focused firms, corporations, high net worth individuals).
- Prepare and present offering materials to promote awareness, education, and familiarity with the investment, including project overviews, financial modeling, and investor-specific reports.
- Collaborate with Marketing to lead the design and creation of sales and promotional material for each project.
- Coordinate with Legal to address investor comments to investment documents (which may involve ongoing negotiation of business/legal items).
- Update and monitor deal pipeline for investor funding allocations.
- Respond to ad hoc questions and requests from investors and team members.
- Form relationships with other outlets that result in overall growth of tax equity syndication, assets under management.
- Report pertinent accounting, tax, and performance information to third-party investors.
Pay range for this position is - $150k-$400k - compensation is made up of commission plus base
EDUCATION :
Bachelors Degree required
FINRA Series 7 preferred
EXPERIENCE :
5 years of tax credit investment and syndication experience preferred.
Experience in investor outreach, business development, or investor relations is preferred.
