What are the responsibilities and job description for the Transfer Coordinator position at Nelson Connects?
Land a stable career in Healthcare and Emergency Medical Services without advanced credentials and years of schooling. As a Transfer Coordinator you’ll use excellent communication, critical thinking and problems solving skills to ensure that all manner of medical patients get timely and appropriate medical transport to the right facilities. Simple in concept, yet incredibly challenging, the Transfer Coordinator designs and coordinates the patient transport journey.
Compensation $19.00- $20.00/hour
Location: McClennan Park, Ca ( 15min from Arden area)
Essential Functions:
- Answer emergency and non-emergency transport requests
- Collaborate with hospital personnel, air/ground medical transportation companies
- Coordinate all requests for transfer and transport promptly and courteously
- Interact with Emergency Medical Services and local, state and federal government agencies
Requirements:
- Capable of typing a minimum of 35 WPM
- Computer Proficiency in PC based applications including but not limited to MS Office
- Capable of working in fast paced environments, under tight timelines and stressful situations
- Team player capable of providing collaborative support to high productivity teams
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Critical thinking skills and conflict resolution skills are a must
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology required
- EMS dispatch experience preferred
- 6 months to 1-year prior experience in the health care environment, preferred
Shifts
- Must be able to work 12hour shifts ( 4hours of daily overtime) 3 or 4 days a week
