What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Sourcing Specialist position at Nelson-Miller?

MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES / FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for performing source release activities; verification of customer parts, and verification of all related documentation against customer drawings/specifications.
  • Preparing and approving the documentation required to be shipped with the product. Generating accurate Certificate of Conformance for products, as required.
  • Coordinating with Customer Service to schedule onsite customer source inspection, when required.
  • Responsible for providing support in quality related functions, such as incoming inspection, first articles, and investigation of customer returned products (RMA’s).
  • Performs other duties as needed or assigned.

REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS

  • General education, with basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).
  • Ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to read blueprints, and use basic visual and mechanical inspection tools.
  • Ability to analyze discrepant products to determine root cause, identify and implement corrective actions.
  • Ability to trend data and provide reports to management.

EXPERIENCE

  • Experience using basic visual and mechanical inspection tools.
  • Knowledge of ISO Quality System requirements
  • Knowledge and understanding of AS9100 standard a plus

  • Good written and verbal communication skills,
  • Be able to present information to management team and employees in a broad audience.
  • Highly organized and consistent.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to change, cooperate with, and elicit cooperation from others.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and remain flexible. Good work attendance.
  • Commitment to quality and the quality improvement process.

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule:

  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday

Experience:

  • AS9100: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Customer Relationship Management: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Quality Improvement: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Quality Technician: 1 year (Preferred)
  • RMA: 1 year (Preferred)
