Summary
Performs basic accounting functions such as ledger/fund analysis, fund reconciliation, and posting. Prepares financial reports from financial data. Investigates and resolves discrepancies with funds, budgets, and expenditures. Provides assistance in the development, implementation, and maintenance of internal fiscal systems, methods, and techniques.

Principal Functional Responsibilities
1) Prepares bank and other reconciliations of intermediate complexity.
2) Enters invoices into Banner for third party payments and processes cash receipts.
3)Analyzes, reconciles, balances, and maintains accounting records and financial reports.
4) Prepares, reviews, and processes budget, revenue, expense, and related journal entries.
5) Monitors the monthly interdepartmental chargebacks by department and makes appropriate journal entries to record transactions.
6) Prepares required and assigned reports by compiling, researching, and analyzing data; ensures expenditure control and compliance with university policy and standard accounting procedures.
7) May assist in audit activities and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education/Degrees: Bachelor’s degree in accounting required. Degree must be conferred at the time of application.
Experience: Minimum one to three years of accounting experience.

Preferred Qualifications
Banner experience and/or FASB and GASB reporting a plus.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to utilize a phone, computer and screen and other office equipment. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is frequently required to sit; talk; or hear and occasionally stand, walk, reach, stoop, or kneel. Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
