Job Posting for Safety specialist at Neovia Logistics
JOB SUMMARY
The incumbent is responsible for all health and safety-related activities at the facility.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensures the facility EHS Management Plan meets all health and safety requirements of the Neovia EHS Management Program. This includes the following tasks :
Determination of the facility’s health and safety legal compliance obligations
Identification of facility health and safety risks
Establishment of all required safety processes and procedures
Collecting and reporting all required safety metrics and monitoring to ensure targets are met
Performing internal compliance audits on safety processes
Managing required safety training for facility employees
Responsible for all safety-related activities at the facility level, including, but not limited to, the following :
Managing incident / injury reporting
Managing all required health and safety recordkeeping and reporting
Conducting risk assessments for all facility activities / jobs
Establishing and communicating safe job procedures
Maintaining current Safety Data Sheets (SDS’s) for all chemicals used on-site
Ensuring proper storage and labeling of all chemicals and hazardous materials
Coordinate facility's Emergency Response Plan and Business Continuity
The incumbent will be expected to lead safety meetings, NOS Safety / Waste walks, and coordinate Safety CI card corrective actions.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree
2-4 years' relevant experience
Logistics / warehouse experience
Ability to read / write and interpret documents
Additional Desired Qualifications :
Professional accreditation in a safety or environmental field.
Six Sigma experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Requires frequent walking, carrying, reaching, standing, and stooping.
Requires lifting / lowering, pushing, or pulling of various items of varying weight.
Requires work from heights of up to 20 feet from floor.
Requires work in an environment with frequently changing temperatures.

Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, other business areas.
Working knowledge of computerized applications (word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation software, email).
