Dental Assistant

The Dental Assistant performs many tasks inclusive of scheduling appointments, office organization, record-keeping, taking X-rays, applying sealant and fluoride, and assisting providers with patients. The Dental Assistant works under the direction of licensed professionals to complete lab work and prep materials for the provider to use during procedures.

It is paramount that the Dental Assistant helps to ensure dental procedures go smoothly by anticipating provider needs and making patients comfortable. This professional will effectively interact with patients, advocates and other care team members while maintaining all standards of professional dentistry. The Dental Assistant is a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team and has the goal of assisting patients to assume responsibility for their own oral health. The position coordinates with all organizational service lines in accordance with the organization’s integrative practice model and in response to individual patient need.
