Loader / Pumper (Oil Movements)
40 hrs / wk, 8hr per day shift w / occasional OT as needed

BASIC FUNCTION :
Completes training topics (e.g
Product offloading : Diesels, ethanol and gasoline) by reading documents, observing procedures, and MyLearning Modules.
Prepares for emergency situations (e.g
tank overflow, leaking hoses / fittings) by shutting down valves and pumps to stop all product flow and notifying Lead Tech and Supervisor
Prioritizes the unloading processes by using the "Daily Operating Instructions" (DOI) and / or daily unloading schedules -reviewing categorized information (e.g
rundowns, rail map and unloading process).
- Checks product quality in rail car, truck or tank by collecting lab samples using best practice sampling method, and visually looking for clarity and impurities.
- Inspects equipment (e.g
pumps, valves, fittings, hoses and tanks) by checking oil levels, temperatures, and looking for leaks.
- Inspects railcar(s), prior to unloading product, for cleanliness or damage, missing items by observing for one wheel chocked, brakes set, no leaks in body of railcar.
- Unloads tank cars with product (e.g
Diesel Fuels, ethanol and gasoline), aligning valves, starting / stopping pumps.
Secures domes and caps on tank cars by using hand tools (e.g
wrenches, pneumatic tools).
- Detects leaks by walking flow lines, making visual inspections of valves.
- Prepares equipment for maintenance by following lockout tag out procedures (e.g
shutting down using power controls and breaker boxes, blocking lines, and isolating equipment).
Makes minor repairs (e.g
tightens packing, greases pump motors, fixes leaks) by using small hand tools such as wrenches, grease guns.
Reports all operational and equipment problems (e.g
seal leaking) to the supervisor for submitting a maintenance work request.
Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion
EXPERIENCE :
Minimum of two years of related mechanical, industrial, military, stationary equipment experience a plus
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE LEVEL :
Experience in refinery or chemical plants
EDUCATIONAL LEVEL :
A minimum of a High School degree or equivalent is required
PREFERRED EDUCATIONAL LEVEL :
Continued education in mechanical or chemical related discipline
REQUIRED SKILLS :
Verbal / written communication, ability to work in various computer programs, mathematical & problem solving skills, ability to read & interpret various instructions, procedures, rules, and regulations
Communicate and cooperate in a "team" environment; Develop and maintain good work attitude / habits, Maintain composure during highly stressful / emergency situations;
Ability to identify and correct process problems; Make fact-based decisions in a timely manner,

WORK CONDITIONS :
Job conditions vary depending upon Client and marketing needs within a Terminal based industrial environment, work conditions include : indoor office environment, Terminal based / industrial environment, controlled temperature environments, wet or humid conditions, all temperatures including outdoor inclement weather conditions, work near moving mechanical parts and rotating equipment, work in high and precarious places located up to 20-50 feet, dust, dirt, chemical and petroleum product exposures, work in confined spaces, noise and vibration exposure and exposure to electrical shock
Exposure to vibration, loud noises and risk of electrical shock.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
Job conditions require the ability to stand, sit, walk, talk, hear, make visual inspection, make precise hand and finger movements, reaching or grasping, lifting or carrying 50 lbs, pushing or pulling 50 lbs, climbing in excess of 40 feet, reading / writing of both technical and nontechnical information sources, communicating verbally and visually, performing math calculations, operating motor vehicles, perceiving color differences, wearing personal protective equipment including flame retardant clothing fall protection and strenuous physical activity.
