Position Summary:
Project Engineer leads the installation of Capital Projects by applying the tools/processes of professional project management, including planning, execution, monitoring, documentation, and closure.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Participate in designing production lines and capital procurements decisions and transferring processes from pilot plant scale to industrialization.
- Manage site projects to support pilot plants or facilities.
- Effectively communicate project status through written technical documentation and oral presentations.
- Establish and maintain good working relationships with vendors, other departments, Nestlé operating companies worldwide, and international personnel.
- Effectively interact with technical colleagues in other departments to ensure a safe and successful installation.
- Keep current updates in the Engineering and Project Management field, particularly in the Coffee, and RTD Beverage category Standards, Guideline, Manufacturing instructions and Laboratory instructions.
- Comply with Nestlé Integrated Management System and all other company policies and procedures.
- Supervise the installation of equipment without safety issues and training of personnel.
- Lead developing engineering projects as part of a multidisciplinary team contributing to the project’s success.
- Supports capital project, justification, budgeting, timeline, and implementation.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by leading/participating in structured problem-solving efforts.
Job Qualifications (Minimum Education, Experience, and Knowledge)
- Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or related discipline)
- Minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience in a related field
- Minimum of 1 year of project management experience
- Working knowledge of project cost and timeline control principles and support drawings for projects.
- Food processing experience a plus
- SAP knowledge a plus
- Knowledge and experience in the Process Installation area
- Ensure technical standards for process installations (steam systems, process piping, industrial safety and environmental regulations) are followed.
- Understanding of the project management field
- Planning and organizational skills
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills
- Computer knowledge (Microsoft Office/Project)
- Ability to travel worldwide 5%
- Ability to read a P&ID drawing.
