POSITION SUMMARY:
The Capital Buyer’s role is a critical change management NUSA network position, with responsibility for all
end-to-end purchasing activities related to procurement of capital Civil and Technical procurement. Reporting
to the NIM Capital Purchasing Manager, The Capital Purchasing Buyer’s primary focus will be creating consistent methods and initiatives within Capital services and equipment (Also in accordance with North America Procurement Policies). This role will also be responsible for insuring alignment and compliance with the Global procurement organization. The Capital buyer will need to lead multiple high value, high visibility projects simultaneously. The successful candidate will need to bring speed and accuracy to the projects by leveraging spend and process improvements to drive cost reductions and compress project timelines.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Possess Knowledge of and understand when to implement each of the following Construction Approaches and Management:
o EPC
o EPCM
o Fixed Price
o Design Build
o Engineering only leading to design
o T&M
o Mitigating contracting risk
o Owner and construction contingencies
o Allowances and uses – subject to mark-ups or not etc..
o Design development and contract amendment familiarity
o Capture value realization in INexus
o Open Book policy
o How to pull together a bid summary and explain. Identify key areas of concern and develop actions/next steps
o Inserts view on process and supply base
o Familiarity with how to use Ariba, or predefined excel based tools addressing aspects above
o Procurement & Project Construction Management a plus as well as multiple contracting approach experience
o Build subject matter expertise while managing capital strategies for assigned categories.
o Manage project bid schedules leading alignment, prebid and post bid meetings with project team, internal stakeholders and Deign.
• Identify & Facilitate sharing of best practice related to above across Factories in NUSA
• Ensure purchase requisitions are accurate and complete, facilitate approved supplier guidance with corporate purchasing.
• Participate in team and functional meetings to drive decision making, information sharing and consensus building in support of an optimized CAPEX Administrative spending.
• Ensure Bid events Request for Proposals RFPs are properly documented and approved
• Ensure all purchasing activities are in according with Nestle Purchasing Policies and perform periodic audits of processes.
• Develop and finalize contracts and agreements for factory for localized purchases.
• Support overall PO approval and submissions to OEMs and suppliers – E2E purchasing.
• Track and submit invoice payments to project manager and close out PO’s when completed
• Ensure Suppliers are up to date with Insurance and Safety requirements via ISN.
• Support Capital Purchasing Manager and team with any special projects.
• Facilitate continuous improvement activities including training and QRC’s to share knowledge
• Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum of 5 years in Capital purchasing preferred, but will consider similar experience in finance, manufacturing or supply chain.
