Position Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Director of Procurement to lead our dynamic procurement team for our Pizza & Snacking Business Division. As the Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and execution of a comprehensive stakeholder management strategy, ensuring alignment between the business and procurement function. You will serve as the main point of contact for the executive team, driving effective communication, collaboration, and engagement to achieve business objectives. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership skills, a deep understanding of procurement strategies, and the ability to influence and drive change at a senior level. This role will be based in Solon (Greater Cleveland), Ohio and will work a hybrid schedule mix of in office/at home. Relocation assistance to the Cleveland area is available.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Strategic Stakeholder Management:
* Deeply understand key information about the business, business priorities, customers and competitors within the frozen pizza and snacking categories.
* Develop and execute a comprehensive stakeholder management strategy to align procurement objectives with the business's long-term strategies, priorities, and objectives.
* Act as the primary liaison between the procurement function and the Pizza & Snacking executive team, ensuring seamless information flow and effective collaboration.
* Represent Procurement on the executive leadership team, providing insights, recommendations, and updates on procurement strategies and initiatives.
* Collaborate with category leadership teams, both local and global, to shape strategic planning and ensure category strategies and sourcing plans are aligned with business objectives.
* Lead the team to support the business in all procurement activities related to innovation, new business models and growth initiatives.
* Monitor supply market evolution, industry outlooks, pricing, and hedging, and provide relevant feedback to the executive leadership team.
* Support the development relationship with strategic suppliers in support of the Pizza & Snacking Business.
2. Financial and Performance Management:
* Provide commercial and financial insights to the Business Division CFO level, including budget, monthly Purchase Price Variance (PPV), and other key financial information.
* Coordinate budget, dynamic forecast, and PPV reporting to ensure the business is fully aware of material price changes, risks, and opportunities.
* Monitor and report procurement's value contribution to the business using key performance indicators and balanced scorecard.
* Drive the utilization of procurement tools, digital practices, and innovative approaches to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
* Lead material resiliency strategy development for Pizza & Snacking Division.
3. Team Leadership and Development:
* Lead and inspire a high-performing team of procurement professionals, both direct and indirect reports, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
* Develop and mentor team members, providing guidance and support in their professional, industry, procurement, and business partnering skills.
* Establish clear objectives and performance expectations for the team, aligning them with Nestle's overall goals.
* Encourage calculated risk-taking, challenge the status quo, and identify advanced methods of managing categories.
* Prioritize tasks, assess skill gaps, and implement strategies to enhance team performance and capabilities.
* Ensure that the team is giving the right level of support and responsiveness on issues related to quality and services from the suppliers of the categories.
* Build strong global Procurement networks to deliver fast and brilliant saving/innovation projects.
Requirements
* Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Operations or other related field required. MBA preferred.
* Over 10 years of progressive work experience in Procurement, Supply Chain and/or Operations
* SAP experience highly preferred* Intelligent risk-taking while managing risk, courage, and willingness to make hard, fact-based decisions.
* Excellent leadership, interpersonal, team building, delegation, and communication skills.
* Excellent business acumen - analytical and quantitative skills.
* Comfortable with ambiguity.
* Maintain, build, and grow relationships within a global procurement organization and with a diverse supplier portfolio.
* Ability to drive Change Management initiatives by developing vision and strategy for change. Delivers change while managing the interface between "day to day" and improvement projects.
* Excellent problem-solving & decision-making skills.
* Drive for results - is passionate about the pursuit of challenging stretch goals. Demonstrates energy, drive, and enthusiasm when striving to accomplish and improve results.
* Interpersonal effectiveness - skilled in interpersonal behaviors that facilitate building trust and engagement amongst others.
* Past leverage of a broad-based career path, including procurement experience a plus.
