POSITION SUMMARY:
Nestle USA, Inc., a leadingfood and beveragecompany, is seeking abusiness-savvylawyerwith deep experiencein the areasofadvertising, marketing,promotions, sales, and distribution, with the ability to flex into other areas as needed. This position will supportNestle USA'sBeverage and Premium Waters divisions. Ideal candidates will be solution-oriented and excel at delivering high-quality, actionable, and timely legal advice.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a key member of both the business teams and the legal function, this role will:
- Work directly with the business teams to develop and support business strategy.
- Provide day-to-day advice to the business teams in the areas of advertising & marketing, labeling & claims, marketing services agreements, sales, and distribution, antitrust, product development, general commercial transactions, and compliance matters.
- Draft and negotiateagreements with third parties related to marketing, advertising,promotions, and sales distribution
- Coordinate the delivery of legal services from internal specialists and external counsel.
- Provide ongoing risk assessments and crisis management support.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the Legal department's functional priorities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- JD from accredited law school
- Current membership in the Virginia State Bar or the ability to become Registered In-House Counsel in Virginia
- Background representing large, complex businesses and working with senior leadership
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
SKILLS:
- Achievement-oriented attorney with superior initiative and ability to see projects through to successful completion
- Business-savvy attorney who works to find solutions to complex challenges
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to gain trust at and work with all levels of an organization
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex issues and concepts to non-lawyers
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders and team members
- Experience conducting live trainings, and developing online trainings, on the topics of social media and other areas of digital media and other online business activities
- High level of analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, and the ability to solve problems proactively and with business acumen
- Excellent project management skills
- Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills
