Responsibilities
- Transcribe depositions, hearings, and other judicial proceedings with a sharp attention to detail.
- Translate audio recordings into verbatim transcripts while following style guides.
- Demonstrate expertise in legal terminology, grammar, and comprehension skills.
- Flexible work schedule as an independent contractor with guidance from our supportive team.
- Access to work opportunities 24/7/365 to accommodate various schedules, including weekends.
- Collaboration on a remote basis and ongoing support from the in-office team.
- Prior experience in court reporting, scoping, or legal transcription.
- Proficient listening skills and ability to adhere to deadlines and style guides.
- Excellent literacy skills with a focus on comprehension, spelling, and grammar.
- Competency in typing speed and accuracy.
- Capability to process complex audio/text content professionally.
- Clear a background check and familiarity with legal terminology.
- Consideration also given to court reporting students.
- High-speed internet connection.
- Computer or laptop with Windows 10.
- Quality noise-canceling headphones.
- Antivirus program with daily updates (excluding Webroot antivirus).
- Infinity Foot Pedal (recommended).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word for transcription work.
