Join a team that builds and operates fiber optic networks, carrier wireless networks, and offers a variety of IP and Ethernet solutions for our customers
What you will be doing
-
Determining strand availability within the market area on proposed routes for newly created projects
-
Prepare fiber splicing MOPs (method of procedures) on assigned projects to create necessary continuity paths

Upload/Submission of fiber splicing MOPs to local field splicing team/s via tracking/workflow systems

Help maintain fiber splicing/strand assignment documentation for the regional area to maintain accuracy of records.

Fiber Network Capacity Management

Notifying FNP II and/or Fiber Planning team concerning overbuild scenarios for any over utilized sections within assigned network

Assist in creating remediation plans for fiber constrained segments

Assist on fiber cuts at any time to relay fiber/customer information to NOC and field teams.
Job Environment
The Conterra GIS/Fiber Network Engineering team is a small team of dedicated professionals. Expect to work in a dynamic environment where priorities and duties may shift quickly. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who is able to independently solve problems with minimum of guidance.
What you will need

Microsoft Office Suite skills – must be able to quickly learn and produce documentation to Conterra standards.

GIS Platform usage and training
-
Adobe PDF application skills – must be able to create and modify documentation given within this format

Professional level of knowledge with fiber optic networks and components. Past or current FOA Certification is a plus.

Professional level of design knowledge and best practices is considered a plus.

Great communication skills to be able to discuss project scopes internally and externally.

Assist regional teams during service outages which may include scheduled maintenance windows after business hours, disaster recovery, and/or break/fix impromptu windows.

Travel Requirements – 5% to 10%
