What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tax Accountant position at Network Handlers?
We are a premier tax law firm located in midtown Manhattan looking for a full-time CPA, Tax Accountant with experience preparing more sophisticated income tax returns, especially complex corporate, partnership, and individual tax returns. You, as the accountant will work closely with our Senior and Managing Attorney's, and will support the company's tax return operations.
MUST HAVE: CPA
Qualifications
- CPA or Law firm where preparation of complex corporate, partnership, and individual returns required
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- Ability to explain complex accounting data in a simple way
- Ability to analyze complex systems
- Knowledge of accounting and financial software
Responsibilities
- Prepare complex tax returns (federal/state), multi-state and multi-source income.
- Prepare forecasts and reconciliation of tax returns.
- Review and analyze tax files in order to compile and organize client tax data in preparation for tax return processing.
- Draft responses to notices from tax authorities
- Tax Audits
- Maintain tax calendar
- Communicate with client to obtain documentation in preparation for tax return processing.
- Field phone calls from clients and address questions on the necessary documentation for tax return filings.
Compensation/Benefits
- $110k - $160k
