Job Purpose
The Compliance Coordinator is responsible for ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, policies, and procedures within the organization. The purpose of this role is to develop, implement, and monitor compliance programs, conduct audits, and provide guidance to employees to promote a culture of compliance and mitigate risk.
Tasks and Activities
So, what does the Compliance Coordinator do? Good question!
- Develop and implement compliance programs and policies based on regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Work closely with the UM Team as a liaison between them and the Hospital UR’s
- Conducting regular audits and assessments to identify compliance gaps and areas of improvement.
- Collaborating with departments to ensure policies and procedures align with regulatory guidelines.
- Providing training and education to employees on compliance policies and procedures.
- Investigating and addressing compliance-related concerns, violations, or breaches.
- Monitoring changes in laws, regulations, and industry standards to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Creating and maintaining documentation of compliance activities, reports, and corrective actions.
- Assisting in the development and implementation of compliance training programs.
- Supporting internal and external audits and regulatory inspections.
- Reporting compliance-related issues to senior management and providing recommendations for improvement.
What skills should the Compliance Coordinator have?
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards related to the industry.
- Ability to work within spreadsheets and reconcile auditing periodically throughout the day.
- Understanding of compliance frameworks and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively educate and train employees.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify compliance risks and implement appropriate controls.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in conducting compliance audits and assessments.
- Proficiency in using compliance management software and tools.
- Ability to interpret and apply complex regulations and policies.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Ethical and trustworthy with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Solid Excel skills.
Education
A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field is preferred. However, we will consider the right candidate with the right skills and experience, who doesn't have a degree.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $20.50 per hour
