JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

TITLE: Transportation Dispatcher/Scheduler
PAY CLASS: Part-time
REPORT TO: RSVP Transportation Director
LOCATION: Carson City, NV

Nevada Rural Counties RSVP Program, Inc.’s mission provides lifesaving volunteer programs that help seniors and adults with disabilities maintain independence with dignity. RSVP provides well-trained volunteers that assist seniors including the homebound elderly, caregivers, veterans, and adults with disabilities with lifesaving services in the fifteen rural Nevada Counties.

JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction of the RSVP CEO and Transportation Director, the Transportation Dispatcher/Scheduler will work with the RSVP Clients, Volunteers, and Drivers to:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Scheduling client transportation requests and dispatching drivers and vehicles to appropriate locations according to predetermined schedules, client requests, or immediate needs.
• Utilize the dispatching/scheduling platform, Verizon Reveal.
• Using telephones and/or emails to contact drivers.
• Speaking with supervisors and/or clients to resolve problems.
• Preparing daily work such as schedules.
• Preparing transportation requests for drivers.
• Overseeing transportation communications within RSVP’s service counties.
• Keeping and organizing transportation requests, completed work requests, transportation logs, and other information.
• Recruit volunteers to serve the elderly, disabled, and others in need of short- and long-term services.
• Receiving and responding promptly to phone and email messages regarding transportation requests.
• Operate a variety of office equipment including a computer; input and retrieve a variety of data and text.
• Conduct Driver training.
• May be asked to drive clients to appointments.
• Perform other duties and/or projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION ARE AS FOLLOWS:

• Perform varied clerical duties including telephones, filing, email, and data entry including Excel.
• Perform procedures in an organized and accurate manner.
• Ability to multitask with different, and sometimes conflicting, events happening at the same time.

• Ability to work under stress and remain calm and to calm other people during rapidly changing circumstances.
• Excellent clerical and organizational skills to keep track of schedules, routes, and drivers.
• Demonstrate sound oral and written communication skills.
• Experience in working with the elderly and volunteers helpful.
• Experience with various forms of office software and equipment.
• Maintain accurate records, files, and reports.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Good people skills

COMPENSATION: $18.00/hour x 24 hours/week; possibly increase after 6-month evaluation
Schedule:

• Monday – Tuesday – Wednesday; 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Carson City, NV: Reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (Required)

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Required)

License/Certification:

• Driver's License (Required)
