Job Description

Nevada State College (NSC) invites applications for the position of Director of K-12/College Partnerships and Field Experiences. The Director will facilitate the placements of, and oversee, all pre-service teacher field experiences and student teaching internships in the SOE and contribute to the development and administration of performance-based assessment systems of teacher candidates. The Director will cultivate and enhance partnerships between Nevada school districts and K-12 schools for the purpose of placing students in high quality field experiences and student teaching internships and collaborate with stakeholders on the development of high school Teacher Academies. The Director will support the instructional and professional growth of pre-service teachers and teacher candidates through advising and teaching seminars and/or courses.

Core Responsibilities:

• Oversee all field experiences/student teaching internships for preservice teachers and teacher candidates
• Coordinate student teaching supervision and work closely with supervisors to ensure high quality student teaching internships
• Cultivate and enhance the quality of SOE partnerships with K-12 schools
• Strengthen relationships with colleagues and departments across the Nevada State campus and work with SOE faculty to align field experiences to applicable methods courses
• Teach the Student Teaching Seminar and potential site-based courses
• Contribute to the development and administration of a performance-based assessment system for teacher candidates
• Develop remediation plans for struggling students during student teaching
• Advise students within their field experiences and student teaching internships

Required Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in Education, Education Administration, or related field
• 5 Years of teaching and/or administrative experience in a K-12 school setting
• Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship (NSC does not sponsor employment-related visas)

Salary & Benefits

Budgeted salary for this position is $68,000. Nevada State College offers excellent benefits, including 15.50% retirement match, 24 annual leave days, beginning balance of 30 sick leave days, 11 paid holidays, educational benefits, and the choice of three health insurance plans that can be supplemented with flexible spending accounts or health savings accounts.
